One of the most common health problems that we face in the modern world is how to deal with the stress of work, family, and finances, not to mention all the other details that can weigh down a day.  Stress can affect our mood, our relationships with our family, and how well we do at work.  If we are stressed we cannot get enough sleep, we do not eat right, and we cannot relax.  This can lead us to weaken our immune systems and make us more prone to sickness. If we get sick we cannot function or conduct our lives in a reasonable way.

Here are some easy ways to reduce the stress and keep yourself healthy during your busy months:

  • Keep things simple. If you can help it, don’t make things more complicated than they have to be. Do not take on more than you can handle, saying “no” can free up your time and make you feel less obligated to others.
  • Get enough sleep. Doctors have proven that without enough sleep, people are more stressed and more likely to get sick.  It may take earplugs or a sleeping pill once a week. You do not need to torture yourself by not getting enough rest.
  • Take time out for yourself. Try each and every day to do something for yourself. Whether reading a book, going on a short walk, or starting a new hobby, do it for yourself and have some fun. Laughter is a great stress reducer.
